Revival of the wettest
Bit of a change of pace for this set of photos, as this year, my wife and I took our 11-week old son to his first Goodwood Revival (brave, I know). Obviously that meant I couldn’t spend as much time as usual around the paddock areas – or anywhere else that’s incompatible with tiny eardrums for that matter.
So as a result, there are probably fewer cars and more people-focused shots. But at Revival, that’s no bad thing as everyone looks incredible.
Also, why did no-one tell us September is monsoon season in West Sussex? The heavens opened on arrival, and the majority of the day was then spent dodging the rainstorms.
Spoiler: these images contain lots of umbrellas.
Do you get the picture? It rained. A lot.
But, being the plucky nation we are, we made the best of it. A few thunderstorms weren’t going to dampen our spirits.
You know who I felt sorry for?
The ice cream men. Probably sold three choc ices between them all day.
But of course, it just wouldn’t be Revival without a cast of suitably colourful characters…
And wouldn’t you know it, the rest of the Revival weekend (long after we’d gone home to dry our soggy socks) was bathed in glorious sunshine.
Oh well, it was an adventure. Next year, I’ll bring my waders.
