Project Description

Curborough Speed Trials

Curborough is my local racetrack, so I’ve been looking forward to the visit of the Vintage Sports-Car Club all winter. It’s a really intimate location that gives me as a photographer a chance to get right up close to the action, both on and off track.

And a VSCC event is a proper sensory experience. The sight of all that brass, aluminium and old leather, the smell of oil and burning rubber, and the sound of 90-year old race cars at full tilt is unlike anything else in the racing calendar.

Here are my images from the day.

The pit area is great, but of course the main purpose of the Curborough Speed Trials is to blast these magnificent machines round the track.
